This stand is manufactured by Humes & Berg and is simply remarkable. Each stand can withstand heavy use, is weather-resistant, and is very lightweight. Made of a special lightweight and easy-to-carry weatherproof material, this stand will hold up to years of use. It is made of 1 piece construction, folds flat, has a hole for a music light cord, and weighs only 2 pounds. I have used heavy 3-inch, 3-ring binders full of music on these stands for years. The best way to describe the material used is that it is similar but heavier than typical outdoor yard signs and political signs, yet the material is smooth enough so that your band's logo can be painted on the front. Or you can use a vinyl decal or foam core board which can be attached easily using velcro, double-faced tape, etc. to the front.

I have used these for years, with weekly rehearsals and gigs, taking them in and out of their case, carrying their cases around, and packing them in the band trailer and they look as good as new. I started using these in 2008. The thumbnail pictures were taken in 2011 after we velcroed the name of our band on them using a similar material. They still look new. I use 10 of these, and some nights they get packed with 7 in one case and only 3 in the other. So you can use the FREE CARRYING CASE to hold more than 4 stands. So if you need extra stands they can be carried in this case. Take a look at the picture of the carrying case after four years of weekly use. It looks as good as new!

What is Corrugated Plastic?

Corrugated plastic is similar to corrugated cardboard boxes except all of the material is made of plastic. And like corrugated cardboard, corrugated plastic has a defined grain to it. It can be bent easily in one direction, the grain direction. But it isn't easy to bend against the grain. Hume’s and Berg’s unique manufacturing process forces the grain to be bent in the opposite direction allowing for their patented one-piece construction. Sometimes this bending against the grain reveals whiteness along the bend. This is a natural occurrence in the manufacturing process. It does not affect the quality and durability of the music stand.

Standard Graphics on Jazz Band Stands

We no longer do the graphics because it is much less expensive for you to use your local sign maker to do it. Below is how it is done.

Contact your local graphics signmaker with your logo and dimensions shown below. Two methods are used.

1. Place your logo directly on the front of jazz band stands by using a printed vinyl sign material. 
2. A second method is to apply the vinyl sign to a separate substrate, such as the material used for yard sale signs. This substrate is then attached to the front of the stands usually with velcro or double-faced tape. The separate substrate can remain attached to the stands and will fit in the case. 

Today's graphic printing technology can produce a vinyl sign to fit any music stand. Most sign makers or printers today have the equipment on-site for vinyl printing. A logo design can be done in almost any shape and in almost any color and printed on vinyl. Fonts and font sizes vary by printer, however.

The process is relatively simple.

1. A logo is designed on a computer;
   2. a vinyl sign with the logo is printed;
   3. the sign is affixed directly to the stand or to the substrate (your choice).

The entire sign can be attached if there is a desire to maintain a certain background. Or the logo design can be cut out and used with the music stand background. Experienced sign makers can physically apply the vinyl to the stand or the substrate with relative ease.
